She's Got a Ticket To Ride!

And she does care! A lot!

I haven't been able to use it yet though. Keith was called back to work for a fire at the mine shortly after he got home yesterday and didn't get back til late. I might try going somewhere tonight, even if it's just to go pick up a pizza for supper. Anything! Just let me back behind the steering wheel...I'm tired of being the passenger side air bag! (as Keith calls me).

No pictures to show of the reno's today, frankly, because I'm too embarrassed to show them. I took it upon myself to get started with the trowel and mud and I did one heck of a...ummm....MESSY job. Wow! In my defense it was tricky because the new piece of gyp rock wasn't perfectly even with the old one and the tape and previous application of mud really made a bump, so I had to work hard to build up on either side. I have a lot of sanding to do, and then I'll have another look to see if I did anything productive. I was kind of annoyed when Keith came in and in 5 minutes did a bang up job of the other side...the side that our drywall pro friend came over and helped him install, tape and mud a small piece. Oh well. I've decided I am quite ok with putting one of those textured wall finishes on that wall anyways. If I can't get it looking half decent we will have a "stone" wall instead of a painted one.

Sydney had a snow day today after the moderate snowfall that came in last night. The roads were plowed before we got out of bed, but it was quite blustery so I guess they cancelled the buses just in case there was visibility issues. She had fun playing (ie. fighting) with Cameron most of the morning, and now we are working on some low sugar cookies for our diabetic neighbour who took his snow blower to our driveway this morning! So thankful I didn't have to go out and do it for the third time in a week. He's also given us rides when we were in a jam to get somewhere, and met Sydney after school when we had conflicting specialist appointments for Cameron. It's so nice to have neighbours like him and wife.

Ok...back to the cookies!
