Renovations - The End of Week 1

It's been a week since Keith decided he had twenty minutes of free time to start yanking out the wainscoting. Since then we've put up new drywall, mudded and sanded, primed the "focal wall" and painted it with two coats of red. Unfortunately, it looks like it may take two MORE coats of red before it looks right. I'm annoyed. I thought for sure that the Pepto Pink and two coats of red would be enough. I don't know if my technique is wrong, if my roller isn't right, if this paint I was talked in to buying sucks or if red really just is that difficult to work with. I do love the colour however.

I decided to take a break today though. Poor Cameron was feeling neglected and restless so I pulled out this fishing game I had tucked away. Apparently, the sense of well being and happiness that comes over his Father when he's fishing is genetic. His hand/eye coordination seems quite impressive for a 2 year old....he could dangle the stick and make the magnetic at the end of the string go right where he wanted it. I was surprised to see that he was much better with his right hand than his left. Maybe he won't turn out to be a Lefty after all.

Yay, Progress! Just had to tell ya that red is just hard to work with. We used the pepto pink primer and a similar red and still had 3-4 coats, so it is not just you. :) Cant wait to see how is all turns out.
