Strawberry Fields Forever

Today is one of those days that I wish would last forever. The sun is shining and there is a cool breeze to keep us comfortable and the bugs away and the strawberries are in full swing. What more could we ask for?

We went on a field trip to a strawberry farm with Cameron's playgroup this morning. There was enough kids and parents to fill two large flat beds pulled by tractors. We were only asked for a small donation to help with the tractor gas, and we were treated to a pint of berries each for the kids, and then a snack when we were done. Sydney knew a couple kids from school, so she was happy to visit with them as picked. Cameron concentrated on his patch, although many of the berries ended up in his belly instead of his basket, of course. Not nearly as many stems and cap as last year thank goodness!

Watermelon is usually a no-no for Cameron, but I figured the strawberry caps were already on their way to his gut, so what difference would more laxatives do?

I'll go back next week and pick like it's my job!
