Spring Forward!

We woke up this morning, congregated on the couch with our coffees and orange juices and turned on the Sunday Morning Fishin' Shows only to find World Vision and Hospital For Sick Children fundraisers instead. Hey! My three kids LOVE Sunday Morning Fishing Shows! The oldest of the kids, the one who is the grumpiest at this point, flipped to the TV Guide to find out what was going on. No fishin shows! That's when I realized our mistake...it was 9am! We completely forgot about Daylight Savings Time.

Let the difficult bedtimes begin!

Not that I particularly enjoy the darkness at supper time that we suffer through all winter, but I REALLY don't like trying to convince my kids that it is indeed bedtime even though the sun is still up. Sydney still has over 3 months of school left and it's just going to get brighter and brighter from here on in. And of course for the first few days, not only is it light out, but it's also 6:30 according to their little circadian rhythms. At least it happened over March Break so I have a week to reprogram them!

(not going so well so far, I can hear Cameron jumping in his bed right now...8:50 new time, 7:50 according to him)

Anyways, picture of the day today comes courtesy of my wonderful husband who is leaving in the morning for a three day NHL hockey game road trip. He and a buddy are headed to Buffalo to catch a Sabres game tomorrow night and then to Toronto for a Leafs game on Tuesday. Just so happens that the Sportsmen's Show is on as well, so they are hoping to check a bit of that out. Despite the fact that I got him the Buffalo tickets for Christmas to tie in with the Toronto tickets he already had, he is feeling a wee bit guilty about ditching me with the kids during March Break. It's not so bad, because the buddy is driving so I'll have the van and I'll actually be able to take the kids somewhere to blow off steam and I have an Aunt and Cousin in town to keep me company for tomorrow at least. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it, but don't tell him that! He baked us a butterscotch pie today, got my bread dough started while I ran errands, cleaned the "Carbage" out of our "Trash Van" which has become his mobile office, AND did a bit of laundry! Oh...AND he cooked supper! It was bacon, eggs, homefries and bagels, but I'm not complaining. It was delicious, the kids at it all without complaint, AND he cleaned up after. Do I seriously have the Best Husband In The Whole Wide World, or what??

Try not to drool...liquids aren't good for your keyboard!
