We survived...barely! Two back to back Birthdays on a Saturday afternoon, no car, a husband at work, and two kids coming down with something. Yes, I'm nuts! But the parties were for two of our best buddies, and we couldn't miss celebrating with them.
First off was Cameron's little girl friend Hannah's party. Sydney and her older Brother, Brandon, met in nursery school two years ago and have been in the same class since. Hannah is just 2 months older than Cameron and is absolutely in LOVE with Elmo. Here's a few pictures from that event.
Her Mommy is a talented cake decorator!
Then we were off to Jakob's house for his 4th Birthday Party. We met his family a few years ago when Keith and his Daddy were on the Mine Rescue Team together. Jakob has a little sister, Olivia, only a couple weeks younger than Cameron. These were the two kids I was babysitting earlier this year. Mad Science provided the entertainment for this party. They geared down a bit since the kids were so young, so the clown did some magic tricks, face painting and ballon animals while the kids did a few crafts.
The highlight of this party was Jakob's Mommy's creative "cake". Jakob isn't a big fan of traditional Birthday cake so she came up with this idea for a "dirt cake" made of pudding, cream cheese, cool whip, cookies and all kinds of candy bugs and rocks!! The kids loved it!!
The kids were just exhausted and what ever it was they were fighting got the best of them last night. Sydney has been coughing, her voice is almost gone and she has a sore throat. Cameron seems fine, but he slept til 10am and has been laying on the couch since then! Jakob's Daddy was sick and Hannah's Mommy fell apart last night as well, so there is definitely something floating around our community. 'Tis the season...especially since it snowed last night! Blech! Florida...T-13 days!!
