Up In Toxic Smoke

I'm slowly being forced to edit August's pictures and get them up on the blog. My Dad messaged me this afternoon to tell me a house I photographed a couple weeks ago, burned down.

We'd gone out to visit my Great Aunt in Kearns and as we were leaving, I spotted a white sculpture up on the roof of a house a street over from her's. When I asked my Dad what it was, he laughed and told me I had to see it for myself. Well, what a photo op that was!

It's actually two houses accross the street from each other, so we aren't sure yet which one burned. The artist is Joe Nickerson and all the pieces are made from PVC pipe. According the small write up I found on him on the web, the inside of the one house is considered his gallery and is filled with smaller, more tasteful and mature pieces.

What a loss this must be for him. His address was tacked to his front door, so I think I'll print out my shots and mail them to him. I may have been one of the last people to capture work.
