Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into Springs
These are a few of my favorite things.
Maria sang it, but I bet she didn't mean in April when she had an already paid for trip to Toronto to see a show and a hockey game!
Friday's crazy rain flooded out roads and then turned in to freezing rain over night and then a blowing snow storm. The highway we were supposed to take to Toronto was closed due to flooding, so we had to take a major detour that coupled with the road conditions added almost 3 hours to our trip. Fun!
But we made it safe and sound even though it took most of the day. We had time for just a quick dip in the pool at the hotel to blow off some steam...

before getting ready to head out....the boys to the Air Canada Center for a hockey game and the girls to dinner and then The Sound of Music. Both kids did great on their big night out on the town. I don't think Sydney understood all that was going on during the play (she certainly didn't get a shiver down her spine when all the red swastika covered banners dropped and the German soldier's walked past us with their guns) but she loved the music and the costumes.
I'm told Cameron's favourite part of his night was the silly goalie race between periods. He was given two pucks during the warm up and a mini flashlight from the RCMPs, so he was quite content.

We got up early the next morning and headed out to do some shopping before getting back on the road home. The kids got to look for Easter eggs at Bass Pro and then got their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.

You'd think he'd stay away from a place filled with guns and snares!
The highway had reopened and it was sunny and dry so we made it home in 4 hours. Mom and Dad continued on their way and had 15 minutes worth of shoveling to do to get to their backdoor when they got home.
