Your present this year....a steroid shot in the leg after spending a couple hours in the ER with the croup. Isn't that a memorable gift?
He is feeling much better now than he did this morning and last night. When we got home he was sort of happy to lay down on the floor and play with his new toys.
He was not very enthusiastic about his cake last night.
But enjoyed opening presents, especially his new Thomas sweater!
We ended up cancelling the skating part of his party. To be rescheduled. I "slept" on the floor of his room after he woke up around 10pm with the distinctive seal bark. We spent some time in the bathroom with the shower on hot as can be, and then put the vaporizer in his room. It was awful and scary at times listening to him breathe in his sleep. I hope tonight is a better night.
I should have known something was up on Thursday when he didn't want to sit on Santa's lap at the Nursery School Christmas Party. I had to hover over Santa's knee so I didn't hurt the old fart. We went to visit Santa at the mall day before and he told him about all the things he wanted for Christmas, including a TV for his room. Fat chance buddy!
The weather still leaves much to be desired. It's either been hovering around -20C with windchills around -30C or warmer and snowing. The Intra-Valley bus must have had a new driver this week. She quickly discovered how steeply banked the corner is on our road. Kids had a lot of fun watching this event.
Sydney came down sick the week before. School was cancelled one day that she was ill and she lucked out because the trip to see Seussical The Musical was cancelled as well. She was devastated that she couldn't go, but she felt much better when she found out NO ONE was going. She missed two more days after that, but we did drag her there for an hour so she could participate in her Christmas concert.
We put our tree up a couple weeks ago. Once again we spent a lot of time looking over each ornament and talking about the ones with significance. I love that they get so excited to see them.
We had to go get the tree while Sydney was in school. I think it's cool that Cameron gets to have the honour of doing some things without her, since she got to do them alone before he was born.
He also got to make sugar cookies, along with his friend Olivia, one afternoon. So nice to not have an older Sister telling you what to do!
We also had parent's night at dance a few weeks back. We usually have to take turns trying to sneak peeks through the small windows to see the girls, but this night we got to sit in the classroom. The girls LOVED the attention!
So that's where we are with three days left til Christmas. I'm already on a sleep deficit and feeling the slightest tickle of something brewing, but I'm fighting it with all I've got. Mom, Dad, and Shirley were here this weekend to celebrate. Lindsay came as well and she is staying on a couple more days to help me finish the wrapping and packing.
