Ottawa

The kids and I spent a weekend, earlier this month, in Ottawa visiting Lindsay doing the "touristy" stuff, she doesn't want to do alone. Ottawa is absolutely beautiful, clean and a great place to visit.

We took in this talented fella performing at the Busker's Festival.
Sydney finally met the lady behind the chocolate.
We visited the Canadian War Memorial again (last time I was here was during the peak of my brain scramble and I hardly remember it!) and got to watch the guards having a little stretch.

We went and watched the boats travelling down the locks. We had a picnic lunch on Parliament Hill and gave the kids a little Canadian History lesson. The staff really needs to do something about the seagulls pestering Liz!

Queen Victoria. We then spent a day visiting the Children's Museum at the Museum of Civilization. After visiting the Bob the Builder Display, we went on to visit the rest of the World...sort of small potatoes after visiting EPCOT, but fun none the less.

No words needed here!
Sydney and I made origami boats while Cameron visited with a Geisha in the next room.
"SYDNEY" in hieroglyphics. Lindsay sleeping like an Egyptian.
Cameron played some backgammon. I wish you could see the hookah and prunes just out of site. Very weird little vignette!
Captain Sydney and Cameron played Deadliest Catch.
Cameron getting ready to bring in the next crab pot.
Panic set in when I suddenly couldn't find Cameron. Seems he'd had enough and needed a break!
He then found this motorcycle and caught his second wind.
We then headed outside to play some snakes and ladders...
and to see if we still had it! We headed out to my Uncle Norm and Aunt Francine's for a visit. Apparently Sydney is pretty good at basketball....
and Cameron thinks mulberries are fantastic! Who knew?
Our last morning was spent blowing off some steam at a little park behind Lindsay's building before the long drive home.
