Juggling Life

Ahhh...we survived the week. Barely. We are hopefully on the mend.

After a week of snot, fevers, coughs, no sleep, speaking way too loud to be heard, saline, vaporizers, Vick's and blessed Ibuprophen, I was finally able to get us in to see our dear Dr. Sparkly (it's not actually Sparkly, but it sounds like it, and Sparkly suits her better anyways. Keith looks forward to his annual medicals if that tells you anything). She gave us a good once over and determined that:

A) Sydney's head is not full of rocks, but actually full of wax. Mineral oil drops for the next week, laying down in the tub to help the gunk swim out, and back to the office in a week for another look. Also referred us to a new ENT since that still doesn't explain the snoring and mouth breathing.

B) Cameron is much easier to examine when his big sister is there to do everything first and then he get's to copy. His head is not full of rocks either, just snot, snot and more snot. It's even coming out his eyes. Looked like it was on his way out, so we are to continue doing what we are doing and wait it out.

C) I do not have strep throat as I feared. The white spots that made my throat hurt are cankers from dehydration from the flu. Nice. I'm to drink and drink and drink. Way better than antibiotics.

I'm so thankful we have Dr Sparkly. I am absolutely certain that if I had gone to a walk in clinic with the kids, all three of us would have walked out with very little useful information about causes and cures and three scripts for antibiotics we didn't need.

So after a week of all that not sleeping, and an almost full moon, we finally lost our minds last night. Keith was folding a basket of laundry in our room and the kids wanted to help, so he gave Sydney the job of matching up the socks and putting them away. I guess he threw a sock at her head and she snapped! An all out sock and underwear war ensued!

I made the mistake of removing the sock that landed on my camera and hurled it up in to ceiling fan....well....what fun that became!

And as if there wasn't enough celebrating going on for Keith this week, turns out yesterday was International Juggler's Day. Yes, for those who don't know Keith well, he can juggle. Add that to his long list of talents.

I just wish he wouldn't do it with my underwear.
Sydney wanted a picture showing off her hair beading. Thanks Gramma Shirley!
Cameron sporting his "There's Something About Mary" hairstyle created by removing his shirt, when he had snot down to his chin.

Now to get through one last party for Keith and we can collapse.
