They eventually come to realize how much better it is to hold a Birthday Party somewhere other than their house!! It only took this Mommy 5 years to figure it out. We only had to look after the invitations, cake and food and they did the rest....and best of all, I'll actually remember her party this time!
I did the cake.
Cameron contributed by poking his little fingers in to every one of the pumpkins when no one was looking. I guess he thought the rotting look would better suit the scene.
The kids signed in...
put on their aprons...
got to work...
had a snack...
finished their craft ...
blew out the candles...
and took turns eating the fondant pumpkins (made sure that was right at the end of the party so the sugar high would hit on their way home!) Some of them ate cake too.
Instead of presents we asked the kids to bring non-perishable food that we will then in turn donate to the food bank. And they did a fantastic job of that!! (pictures to follow...Daddy left to go duck hunting with the food still in the van.)Gramma Viviane and Papa John made a surprise appearance at the party and came back to our house to give Sydney her present. Papa made his contribution to the food bank, thinking he'd get a rise out of her, but she only laughed and gave him the slightly annoyed "oh, papa" look!
Then came the gifts for one of the youngest members of the I Love Sidney Crosby Fan Club...
Spoiled Rotten! I guess we'll be playing Rock, Scissors, Paper to see who will get to accompany her to the hockey game!
She also got some spending money, including some US dollars, from Papa Bob and Lynda to use at Disney! I'm sure we'll have pictures to post when she spends that!
